Code of Conduct
To update and make improvements, the General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ)
has revised its Code of Conduct on several occasions.
Revisions made in June 2023 reflect recent changes and include:
1) further increases in the responsibility of corporations to respect human rights (need
to strengthen efforts as a management risk), and
2) the growing role that the general insurance industry should play in the area of
financial literacy.
The March 2024 revisions were made in order to further ensure compliance, etc.
The member companies of the GIAJ are required to pay due attention to the Code of
Conduct and put it into practice in accordance with their individual management policies.
